[Armin holds up his prom invite for a moment.]

I normally don't really care how I look for these sort of things, but I'm dating Angel now. And I know she will look amazing [biased, biased] so I feel I should try and look my best too.

[Maybe some of those comments from Lance stung him in his already shaky self-confidence.]

But, uh. I don't really know how. You always seem to know how to look fashionable. Do you think you could give me some tips?

Yeah, I did! I'm definitely going, it's always a lot of fun.

[Even though there's always some small-scale disaster either during or afterwards. Kazuki just takes that as part of the deal now.]

I didn't know you were dating! Armin, that's great! You'll have to tell me all about her-- Her, right? That sounds like a girl's name...

Aw, heh, I'm flattered! Sure, I can help! Are we talking clothes, or hair, or something else?

[Armin could do without the small-scale disaster each time. Which is another concern of his about this prom, but at least that is something he knows how to prepare for.

Looking fashionable? Not a chance.]

I-- I haven't told you about Angel? [Armin seems a bit stunned. It is true he hadn't exactly made a huge fuss about it on the network, but he thought it had filtered down to all his friends by now.] I'm sorry, I thought I already told everybody who I thought should know. But y-yeah, I'm dating someone. Her name is Angel. We've been together since the end of last year.

[His cheeks are reddening a bit, his expression softening.]

And both. I think I will need help with both.

Don't worry about it! I know you're a private guy. Can I ask what she's like?

Ah, let's see. She is really kind. She's always trying to take care of everybody else. She'll always listen to you if you need it and she won't judge.

And she loves trying new things, even if it is something small like trying a new flavour of ice cream. She... she never got the chance to do those sort of things in her own world [Though, for the sake of Angel's privacy, he won't say why.] and she's always trying to catch up on what she missed.

She's smart too. She always knows what to do when my laptop is giving me trouble. She says it is nothing but it is not nothing to me. I'm pretty sure I would've lost a lot of stuff I worked on if she wasn't there to help me when I need it.

And-- [A sigh, but it is the dreamy, love-struck sort.] She is really beautiful. She's got these amazing blue eyes. And little freckles on her nose.

[And amazing boobies, but there are no pesky Gengar around to bully Armin right now, so he won't say that.]

[Kazuki could probably listen to this kind of thing all day and never get sick of it. There's something really wonderful about being in love, huh?]

She sounds really amazing. You'll have to introduce us when you bring her to prom!

Do you know anything about what she's going to wear yet? Or have you decided on a flower for the corsage?

Her dress is going to be... sort of silvery and down to her knees, with little stars and other decorations embroidered onto it. Sorry, I'm not really good at describing these sorts of things.

And I didn't think about flowers yet.

[He's really no good at this at all.]

No worries, that's good enough. I've got an idea of what you mean. So, I'm guessing you'd like to find something that compliments her look?

Yes. Though I don't necessarily need it to put me in the centre of attention. I just don't want to look like an embarrassment next to her.

So classic and understated! I think that would suit you best anyways. You can always have a little bit of flair where it's not too loud, like your pocket square or your cuff links.

You've got such big blue eyes, I think something on that color spectrum would suit you really well. What do you think?

Blue would be good. I like blue.

[He has so little to contribute here. Kazuki is the one with the Fashion Knowing, not Armin.]

Do you think-- I'm not sure if it is possible, but do you think there'd be a way to make my hair look... cool too?

We can go for a smoky blue so it compliments Angel's silvery dress. I think it'll go really well!

Oh, sure! Your hair is so straight, it'll probably behave well in any style. Do you want to slick it back, or sweep your bangs, or...?

Uhm. Which do you think would look best?

[Kazuki, please. Armin has literally only had two hairstyles his entire life. These questions are not the sort he can answer.]

Hmm... Pushing the bangs back would accentuate your eyes even more. Here, do this--

[Kazuki pushed his own bangs back in example]

[Armin sweeps his bangs back as best as he can without any product to keep them in place. It is a bit of a weird experience having his forehead be so bare, but he trusts Kazuki's judgement.]

Yep! That looks good!

I never noticed your eyebrows before! They're really dark!

That is not a bad thing, is it?

[Armin kind of likes his eyebrows. At least, he feels, they are the only part of him that looks properly manly. But perhaps that sort of thing is not in fashion? People certainly do a lot of weird things to their eyebrows in this world.]

Not at all! Dark eyebrows are good. They accentuate the shape of your face. And like, if they were light colored like your hair, you'd look like you don't have them at all. That looks weird to people, because you express a lot of emotion with your eyebrows.

Right.

How long do you think it will take for you to fix my hair? Is that something we can do during that weekend or should I come visit you first?

Oh, no! [Kazuki can't help but laugh a little.] I can do my hair in less than 10 minutes, and I've got cowlick from hell! Someone with straight hair like you should only take a minute.
