Class Info: A Bard is basically a Dancer (can refresh one unit's turn and use both types of magic) with a few other tricks up their sleeve. Stellan has a few class-locked accessories (that you get by doing various quests and paralogues) that he can "use" like a weapon to grant the unit another turn AND buff one unit's stats at double the rate of the average rally, and last for three turns with an eroding effect, like using a Pure Water. For example: 1st turn +6, 2nd turn +4, 3rd turn +2, 4th turn: 0. These accessories are each affiliated to one stat, and only have 5 uses before they break. Repairing them requires the use of 1 Mythril.
Basically, the extra bells and whistles make up for the fact that his offensive stats are pathetic, so he needs something else to make him worthwhile as a unit.
The accessories are as follows:
Seiros' Rage: +Attack
Cethleann's Grace: +Resistance
Cichol's Acuity: +Speed
Indech's Shield: +Defense
Macuil's Ire: +Magic
Sothis' Blessing: +Charm
The only way to "weaponize" Stellan is by taking advantage of his ridiculous Charm growth and have him attack solely by using Gambits. This is risky however, since his defenses are also rather below average, so his safety needs to be guaranteed when he's close enough to an enemy unit to attack. It would probably be more prudent to equip him with a Battalion with a support Gambit instead, so he can still be useful on the back lines.
History
Born as the second son in a middling merchant family in Daphnel territory (existing so close to the border, in fact, the Eldssons still hold close ties to the Kingdom from times before the Alliance won independence) Stellan grew up in a relatively privileged household. He did not live a life of luxury or status, but he never went hungry or wanted for anything. His parents were warm and loving and he had a good relationship with his older brother. He never resented his sibling for being the one that was to inherit the family business and name, because he was honestly never interested in such a life. Stellan's passion has been, and always will be, song.
The majority of his childhood was spent like any other, with lots of romping around the family's estate and getting into boyish mischief. It wasn't until his confirmation into the Church of Seiros at the Eastern Church that he discovered the joys of music. The cathedral there had a grand organ that absolutely mesmerized him, not to mention the choir, the harps, the flutes, and whatever else was played there. He was quickly obsessed, and made frequent trips to the Church not out of piety but from a soul-deep musical curiosity, always hungry for more. It took an unrelenting stream of pestering, but soon enough, the organist at the Eastern Church took him under his wing as an apprentice.
Stellan flourished under his master's tutelage. He soon learned the intricacies of the organ, and grasped the general mechanics of many other instruments. His talent was undeniable, and that, combined with his vivacious personality, made him a favorite among the brothers and sisters of the monastery. After many years of apprenticeship, he caught the attention of the bishop himself, who recommended him to the Officer's Academy of Garreg Mach to train to become a proper monk of the Church of Seiros. With that advantage, he was able to enter the Academy at a reduced rate of tuition, one that his family could manage.
(I know he has green hair, but he is not related to the Saints in any way, I promise. He doesn't even have a Minor Crest or anything!)
Personality: Stellan is a force of nature. Like the sun, he can brighten any situation, illuminating joy and hope in even the darkest of times. And spreading that joy is his passion. It's half the reason he loves music so much-- it's a universally understood language that can evoke any kind of emotion. Similarly, Stellan is a highly empathetic person. He's very, very good at sniffing out people's true feelings, even when they're trying to hide them. And if he can help others with their problems in any way, he will.
However, his empathy is also his Achilles Heel. He feels the pain of others very acutely. This shows in his combat abilities. They're awful. He can manage a bow, because it distances him from his target, and is actually pretty good with healing and other support, but... Yeah. Even while sparring, he often ends up as a glorified training dummy. While most of those at the Academy are training to be knights, Stellan often has to remind others (and himself) that he wants to be a monk.
When push comes to shove, Stellan will always prioritize his friends, family, and allies. He's not about to defect to whichever side that experiences less bloodshed-- he has a strong sense of loyalty. But he'll always mourn losses, no matter what side they are on. If wars aren't fought, they won't end either.
Still, expect him to be cheerful most of the time! He's also slightly mischievous, and will rope those around him into tricks and games if it looks like they need to have a good time.
Various quirks: Stellan is a bottomless pit, especially when it comes to sweets. He likes fashion and accessories, and is a bit vain about his hair. He loves to shop, and ladies in turn love to have him tag along to carry their bags. In battle, he uses his bugle to refresh a unit's turn, and use his various accessories. While romantic relationships aren't something he actively pursues (rather, they just tend to happen to him over time) he's attracted to both sexes. It's not something he flaunts, but it's not something he keeps secret either.
